Le Sueur Co. Fair looking for new carnival
Less than a month before the opening of the Le Sueur County Fair, the fair board is scrambling to fill a big hole in the schedule of activities.
Chad Washa, president of the Fair Board, said they learned last week that Cody Rides, which has run the carnival for the past eight years, has shut down and would not be at this year’s fair.
The fair board had a meeting Wednesday, July 19, to discuss the situation. Washa said they have been looking to secure another carnival that could possibly fill their needs, and have found one that has an open date. They are negotiating with that company and hope to have something finalized to vote on at a meeting Monday, July 24.
“If this doesn’t work out, we’ll do what we can to find something, probably with inflatables and things like that,” Washa said.
The Le Sueur County Fair runs from August 17-20 in Le Center.
