Le Sueur County #28, Rice County #2 will close for construction starting Aug. 16

The reconstruction of County State Aid Highway (CSAH) #28 in Le Sueur County and CSAH #2 in Rice County, from Highway 13-21 east to Highway 19 near Lonsdale, will begin on Monday, Aug. 16. The construction will result in closure of the roadway.

The reconstruction of CSAH #28 and CSAH #2 is a joint project of the two counties, with Rice County being the major player since it has the greater mileage involved.

Le Sueur County Highway Engineer Darrell Pettis said traffic will be detoured to Highway #19 at New Prague. CSAH #26 in Montgomery is also under construction and will not be used as a detour route. He added that traffic will be allowed to cross Le Sueur County Roads #144 and #164 and Rice County #51 during the entire two-year project. Work to be completed this fall will depend on the weather
