Le Sueur County 4-H members compete at State 4-H Horse Show

Le Sueur County 4-H horse project members competed at the Minnesota State 4-H Horse Show September 30 - October 3 at the State Fairgrounds in St. Paul.

Tosten Peterson of New Prague won the title of State Champion in Senior Team Roping with partner John Goetschel of Nerstrand. Tosten also placed sixth in senior goat tying.

Paige Campe of Le Sueur placed third in saddle seat pleasure; Kelli Crawford of New Prague placed second in poles, eighth in barrels, third in jumping figure eight and third in key race; Josh Edmondson of Le Sueur won the State Championship in 10th grade poles, placed seventh in barrels, fifth in jumping figure eight, third in key race; Emily Krekelberg of Le Sueur placed second in horseless horse; Stephanie McCabe of Le Sueur placed seventh in showmanship; Morgan Meger of Le Sueur placed eighth in showmanship, seventh in Western pleasure, ninth in Western horsemanship, third in hunt seat pleasure, second in hunt seat equitation.

All of the State Horse Show participants had to win at the Le Sueur County Fair in August. These champion horse project members also placed in the Top Five Overall in the Herdsmanship competition.

There were more than 80 counties competing for top honors at the State Show and once again, Le Sueur County 4-H members were very successful.
