Ledwein wins 2AAA girls golf crown
New Prague High School’s Taylor Ledwein shot a second day total of 77 to win the Section 2AAA girls golf championship Monday, June 6, at Ridges at Sand Creek Golf Club in Jordan.
Ledwein, the defending State Class AAA champion, went into the second day of competition trailing by one stroke after shooting a 78 on the first day of competition, but shot a 1-over 37 on her first nine holes to claim the lead and then held on for the championship.
Ledwein, who will golf at Bradley University next season, will defend her title at the State Class AAA meet Tuesday and Wednesday, June 14 and 15, at Bunker Hills GC in Coon Rapids. Ledwein will attempt to keep the state championship in New Prague’s hands for the fourth year in a row. Former Trojan Kenzie Neisen, now golfing at Oklahoma State, won back-to-back titles in 2013 and 2014.
