Legion team loses to Northfield

The New Prague American Legion baseball team lost to Northfield Tuesday, June 14, at Dundas.

New Prague's home game with Northfield, which was scheduled for June 15, will be played as part of a home doubleheader on June 30. New Prague will face Farmington at 5:30 p.m. and Northfield at 7:30 p.m.

A doubleheader with South St. Paul scheduled for Monday, June 20, was postponed.

Post 45 was scheduled to play at Red Wing Wednesday, June 22, and will host Hastings in a doubleheader at 6 p.m. Monday, June 27. They will play Lakeville South Wednesday, June 29, at Elko

Northfield 7, Post 45 1

Northfield scored three runs in the fourth inning and four in the fifth to take a 7-1 win over New Prague at Dundas.

New Prague's only run came in the fifth. Nick Sampson led off with a single and stole second. With two outs, Garrett Palmstein reached on an error, bringing Sampson home.

Sampson went 3-for-3, including a double, and Palmstein was 2-for 3. Other New Prague hits were by Trewartha, Brok Schwartzkopf and Cullen Smith.
