Leona Poucher, 95
Leona J. Poucher, 95, of New Prague, died Saturday, April 13, 2013 at the Mala Strana Health Care Center in New Prague.
Leona was born on March 13, 1918, in Montevideo, a daughter of John Hegge and Nettie (Eid) Jacobson. She attended elementary and high school in Montevideo, and the Brady and Rogers Beauty Academy in Minneapolis. She was a beautician in Monticello and Minneapolis for five years. Leona married Allan Poucher on May 25, 1940, in Montevideo. She lived in Richfield for 25 years, moving to New Prague in 1981. A homemaker in her own home, she was a former member of the Eastern Star. Leona loved to play golf and loved to bake.
She is survived by a daughter Nancy L. Poucher (and husband Leonard Berner), Provincetown, MA.
She was preceded in death by her husband on January 4, 2005; her parents; and six sisters Minnie Foss, Sanda Nelson, Cora Broughton, Nora Haff, Helen Corrigan and Evelyn Michie.
Graveside services were held Monday, April 15, at 3 p.m., at the Czech National Cemetery in New Prague, with the Rev. Dr. Steven Trewartha of Faith Point Lutheran Church in New Prague officiating.
Interment was at the Czech National Cemetery.
