Lillian Robertson, 91
Lillian Ursula Robertson, 91, a lifelong resident of Steele County, died Monday, July 8, 2013, at Clare Bridge of Owatonna.
Lillian was born on September 14, 1921, at home near Litomysl, a daughter of Bohomil and Anna (Stransky) Kubicek. She worked at Cedarview Nursing Home and then as a practical nurse. She also filled in at the Owatonna Canning Company summer pack. Lillian and Andrew Robertson were married on May 12, 1941, at St. Hyacinth Church in Owatonna. They farmed southwest of Owatonna since 1953. She enjoyed traveling in the camper, playing cards and cooking. Lillian made bread and raised donuts from scratch. She always had a big garden and canned everything that came out of it. She enjoyed milking cows and attending to the livestock. In her younger years she loved to dance and attended many dances at the Monterey and Zeiners Ballroom. Most of all she loved her family. Andy and Lillian worked for many years at Morehouse Chalet renting ice skates and cross country skis. She enjoyed all the children, many who called her “Gramma.”
She is survived by her husband of 72 years; seven children Maurice, Owatonna, Kenneth (Kathy), Owatonna, Ann (Jon) Brehmer, Plainview, Curt (Sue), Owatonna, Barb (Steve) Cervenka, Webster, Cathy (Al) Martin, Owatonna, and Sharon Ringhofer, Owatonna; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by siblings Edward, Fredrick, Hank, Ray, Helen, Elizabeth, Anna, Martha, Agnes, Caroline, Sr. Perpetua, Pat, and infant daughter; two great-grandsons Brian Wohlers and Jesse Saufferer; and son-in-law Ron Ringhofer.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday July 12, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Owatonna, with Rev. Edward Mc- Grath officiating.
Interment is at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday at the Brick- Meger Funeral Home in Owatonna, and Friday for one hour prior to services.
Memorials preferred to St. Joseph Church or St. Mary's School.
