Lonsdale Council hears feedback on street improvement project

Lori Nickel, Montgomery Messenger

As a way to gauge public opinion on a street and utility reconstruction project proposed for a southeast portion of Lonsdale, the City Council held an informational meeting on Wednesday, March 9, in the Lonsdale Public Library meeting room.

The reconstruction will affect 80 to 90 property owners south of State Hwy. 19 and east of Main Street. At Wednesday's meeting, about 20 people were in attendance to give input on the project.

City Engineer Kevin Kawlewski walked the audience through the specifics of the plan. The necessary improvements would include reconstruction of curb and gutter, water mains and storm sewers, and an evaluation of the sanitary sewer. Kawlewski explained that the project would improve local drainage problems.

This will get water off the streets
