The Trojan girls hockey and gymnastics teams both took second place at state...The New Prague City Council approved assessments for the 2004 street improvement projects involving five streets southeast of the downtown area...New Prague Intermediate School fourth grader Katie Crosby recently won at the state level for the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Americanism Poster Contest...Trojan wrestlers Mike Minette, Eric Olson and Travis Rutt qualified for the State Class A wrestling tournament.

A Montgomery woman, Christine Kay Barta, was arrested after allegedly attempting to cut the throat of her three-year-old son...New Prague teachers and school district negotiators have reached a tentative settlement on a two-year contract...The New Prague City Council approved an expansion project for a 6,560 square foot addition to the existing Holy Trinity Lutheran Church building...New Prague eighth-grader Travis Rutt took home a third place medal from the state Class AA wrestling meet Saturday.

A New Prague High School senior, Katie Meyer, died in a two-car crash Monday afternoon northeast of New Prague...Daycare provider Regina Pumper used CPR earlier this year to save infant Riley Holets who was choking...NPHS speakers Josh Gebhart, Joelle Merhar and Matt Tschimperle brought home medals from the Bloomington Jefferson Speech Tournament...The New Prague Area Figure Skating Club presented its sixth annual ice show to an audience of more than 360.

Late Saturday night fire gutted a downtown New Prague building that housed Granny’s Restaurant and three upstairs apartments...Rural mail carrier Scott Loren Borchardt, of Prior Lake, was killed Friday afternoon in a two-car collision in Cedar Lake Township...Holy Cross School second grader Cody Shimota earned first place among second graders in the state-sponsored contest for what students think the state quarter should look like...The annual Skate for Hunger event at the New Prague Area Community Center collected 2,600 pounds of food items and $1,816 in donations.
