Margaret Beiser, 94

Margaret Marcella Beiser, 94, Le Center, died Friday, July 29, 2016, at Mala Strana Health Care in New Prague. Visitation was held on Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Le Center. Funeral service was on August 3, 2016, at 11 a.m. also at the church, with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery in Le Center.

Margaret was born in New Prague at the family farm on August 15, 1921, to Matt and Mary (Dietz) Prokes. She was united in marriage to her first husband, Frank Brezina at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in New Prague in 1939. She was then united in marriage to Bill Beiser at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Le Center in 1967. 

She worked as a nurse’s aide at the Nursing Home in Montgomery and Le Center, Green Giant, and Farmers Seed and Nursery. Margaret was a member of the St. Paul’s sewing circle. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and sewing blankets and quilts.

Margaret is survived by children; Mary Studnicka and friend, Oscar, Salas of Donna, TX, Rosie (Bruce) Oles of Le Sueur, Carol Roemhildt of Le Center, Francis (Carol) Brezina of New Prague, Alice (Alvin) Chlan of New Prague, and Julie Moen and friend Brad Latzke of Montgomery; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, and 3 step great-grandchildren; sister, Marcella Stepka of New Prague; sisters-in-law, Dolores Prokes of New Prague, and Marietta Prokes of New Prague.

Margaret is preceded in death by husbands, Frank Brezina and Bill Beiser; parents; brothers, George, Joe, Emil, and Frank; sisters, Ludmilla Prokes in infancy and Marcella Prokes; grandchildren, Darlene and Phil; sons-in-law, Gordy Roemhildt, and Lester Moen.
