Margaret Flicek, 86
Margaret Marge Flicek, 86, of Montgomery, died Monday, May 31, 2010, at Three Links Care Center in Northfield, surrounded by her family.
Marge was born on February 25, 1924, in Duluth, a daughter of Bernard and Josephine (Feyen) Wacholtz. She graduated from the Academy of Holy Angels in 1942 and The College of St. Catherine (St. Mary's School of Nursing) in 1946. She served as an RN in the Army Nurses Corps, followed by working at Queen of Peace Hospital in New Prague. Marge married Glen P. Flicek on August 23, 1947, at the Church of St. Thomas the Apostle in Minneapolis. She continued to work at the Veterans Hospital in Minneapolis while Glen attended St. Thomas College. The family moved to Montgomery in 1950.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years; nine children Steve (Bonnie) Flicek, Montgomery, Dave (Camille) Flicek, Burnsville, Mary (Mike) Hartung, Apple Valley, Barb (Bob) Rotter, Montgomery, Diane (Scott) Barriball, Prior Lake, Becky (Bob) Foley, Montgomery, Peter (Connie) Flicek, Montgomery, Joe (Melissa) Flicek, Lonsdale and Amy (Kirk) Sampson, Chanhassen; 28 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a sister Patricia Crosson, Costa Mesa, CA.
She was preceded in death by a son Kevin; and her parents.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at 4 p.m., Friday, June 4, at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery, with Rev. Cory Rohlfing officiating.
Interment was at Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery. The nine Flicek children served as casketbearers.
Visitation was held from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday at the church. A Holy Redeemer CCW rosary was recited at 1:30 p.m., and the American Legion Auxiliary and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary conducted a memorial service at 1:45 p.m.
Arrangements were with the Keohen Memorial Funeral Home in Montgomery.
