Marjorie Gruber, 79
Marjorie M. Gruber, 79, of Montgomery, died Monday, April 20, 2009, at Central Health Care Center in Le Center.
Marge, a daughter of James and Myrtle (Munson) Dowdell, was born in Atwater on May 26, 1929. She graduated from Atwater High School and the College of St. Catherine. She married John Gruber on September 12, 1953, at St. Patrick's Church in Khandiohi.
She is survived by six children John (Cindy) Gruber, Sparks, NV, Mary (Steven) Zard, New Prague, Bill Gruber, Sparks, NV, Peggy Gruber, Mankato, Barb (Ron) Stepka, New Prague and Geri (Doug) Golstad, Montrose; 19 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister-in-law Maxine Gruber, St. Paul; special family friend Bill Huch, St. Paul; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two sons Gregory (as an infant) and Thomas; two sisters Terri (Robert) Melka and Delores Dowd (Joseph) Walsh; brother Gerald Bud Dowdell; brother-in-law Richard Gruber; and grand nephew Jim Garner.
Funeral services will be held at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery on Saturday, April 25, at 11 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Michael's Cemetery in rural Montgomery.
Visitation will be held at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.
