Meeting set on Level 3 offender

The Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Office will host a Community Notification Meeting regarding a Level 3 Predatory Offender that will be residing in rural Cordova Township.
Le Sueur County Sheriff Bret Mason said that Brian Joseph Miller, age 35, was recently released form the Scott County Jail and will be residing in rural Cordova Township.
The meeting will include information on the offender and will be presented by the Minnesota Department of Corrections community Notification Unit, followed by a brief question-and-answer period.
Sheriff Mason said it is important to understand that the offender is not wanted by law enforcement and has served his sentence. The meeting and notification process is required since Miller is classified as a Level 3 Predatory Offender.
“This notification is not intended to increase fear in the community, but to inform the public and to enhance the safety of the public,” Mason said in a press release.
The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 18, at the 4-H Family Center, Le Sueur County Fairgrounds, 100 State Highway 99 in Le Center. Anyone with questions about predatory offenders is encouraged to attend the meeting.
