Immac. Conception CCW Rummage Sale Oct. 22-23

The Immaculate Conception Council of Catholic Women, Lonsdale is sponsoring a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 22, and Saturday, Oct. 23, in the church basement. Something for everyone.


Tina Loard Cancer Benefit Oct. 23

A cancer benefit for Tina (Cekalla) Loard of Jordan will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, at the OK Corral Restaurant & Saloon in Jordan. There will be a baked potato bar, 50/50 raffles, silent auctions, and Tastefully Simple products for sale. All freewill offerings will go directly to Tina and her husband Vance for medical expenses.


NP Friends of the Library Fall Book Sale Oct. 23

The New Prague Friends of the Library will hold it's Fall Book Sale from 9 a.m to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 23, at the New Prague Public Library.

Donations are welcome and may be dropped off during regular library hours.


Matching Grant Breakfast is Oct. 24



St. John's Catholic Aid, Union Hill, will hold their annual Matching Grant Breakfast from 8 a.m. to noon on Sunday, Oct. 24, at the Union Hill School Hall.

Scrambled eggs, ham and sweet rolls will be served. Proceeds will be matched by the Catholic Aid Association.


WIC Voucher Pickup is Oct. 26

The CAP Agency WIC voucher pickup date for all residents of Scott County is from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 26, at the CAP Agency 712 Canterbury Road South in Shakopee.

Suicide Grief Support Meeting is Oct. 26

The Suicide Grief Support group will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 26, at Queen of Peace Hospital in New Prague. For this meeting only, we will meet in the Solarium which is on the main floor of the hospital. Enter through the Emergency Room doors and continue as far as the southeast elevator marked 2. Turn left and the Solarium is at the far end of the hallway.

Family, friends, neighbors and anyone affected by a suicide death is welcome. No registration required and there is no fee. Questions: Call Sally Schmid at 952-758-4735.


St. Wenceslaus CCW Belgian Waffle Breakfast Oct. 31

The St. Wenceslaus CCW is sponsoring an all you can eat Dad's Belgian Waffle breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31. Located in the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church basement in New Prague. Tickets available at the door.


Clue Tournament, set for Nov. 6

The Scott County Historical Society will host a Clue Tournament starting at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6. Use your sleuthing skills to follow the clues and unveil the truth.

Beverages, snacks and prizes are provided in the tournament, including a final Grand Master Prize. Small fee applies, and includes admission to the Museum and Mysteries of Scott County exhibit.

CPR 101 skills class is Nov. 6

If a cardiac arrest happened to your loved one or a close friend, would you know how to perform life-saving CPR, which can double a victim's chance of survival? Join Queen of Peace Hospital for CPR 101. Designed for those who most likely would never attend a traditional CPR course, this one-hour class is FREE to the public. NO CPR card will be issued.

This class will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6, in the Jameen Mape Conference Center at Queen of Peace Hospital. To register, contact the Queen of Peace Education Department at 952-758-8187.
