Senior Citizens to meet Dec. 1 The New Prague Senior Citizens will meet at 12:45 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at the New Prague City Hall second floor meeting room, 118 Central Ave. N. The bus picks up senior citizens for local shopping every Wednesday. For reservations call 952-496-8341. All seniors are welcome to join the club for meetings and cards the first Friday of each month at 12:45 p.m.

Cancer Support Group meetings to begin on Dec. 5 Area residents are welcome to join a new Cancer Support Group that is forming in the community. The first meeting is on Tuesday, Dec. 5. People can come share their experiences and learn more about coping with the challenges of cancer. Family and friends are welcome to attend. The group meets the first Tuesday of each month from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Mayo Clinic Health System, 301 Second St. NE in New Prague. Meetings will be held in the Solarium Conference Room. New Prague V.F.W. Post 5145 meets Dec. 7 New Prague V.F.W. Post 5145 will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, Dec. 7, at the Park Ballroom clubroom, 300 Lexington Ave. S. at 7:30 p.m. Lunch will be served at 7 p.m. All veterans are welcome.

Area Separated & Divorce Support Group meeting on Dec. 5 and 19 Area Separated & Divorce Support Group "Healing Broken Relationships" meets the first and third Tuesday of the month 7-8:30 p.m. at St. Wenceslaus Church in the Church Rectory, 215 Main St. E. New Prague. The next sessions are December 5 and 19. Come and experience good support as you move through this time in your life. People of all faiths are welcome. Beyond the Yellow Ribbon meets Dec. 5 Beyond the Yellow Ribbon South of the River (BTYR) will be meeting from 7-8:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 5, in the lower level of the Prior Lake VFW Club. All meetings are open to the public and they welcome people’s participation as well as ability to volunteer. Family course on mental illnesses to be held in Savage NAMI Minnesota (National Alliance on Mental Illness) is offering a free educational course that helps families gain a greater understanding of mental illnesses, discuss resources, build communication skills, reduce stress and find support. More than 4,000 Minnesota families have benefited from this course. Join others for this series taught by family members who have walked the walk. The Family-to-Family course will meet weekly for 12 weeks on Thursdays starting Jan. 11, from 7-9:30 p.m., at Glendale United Methodist Church, 13550 Glendale Rd in Savage.
