Fundraiser offering photos with Mrs. Claus on Dec. 9 Windmill Animal Rescue is offering Photos with Mrs. Claus and Your Pets/Family from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9, at Windmill Feed & Pet Supply, 350 Main St, Elko New Market. There will also be a Bake Sale during this fundraiser for Windmill Animal Rescue, a shelter and sanctuary for animals.

Suicide Grief Support Group Memorial Service Dec. 12 Family, friends and anyone who has lost a loved one to suicide are welcome to attend a Memorial Service held by the Suicide Grief Support Group. This service is an annual event held during the Christmas season to honor and remember those who have lost their lives to suicide. The service will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 12, beginning at 7 p.m. and will be held at the Mayo Clinic Health System, 301 Second St. NE in New Prague. Please enter through the Emergency Room doors (southwest entrance) and take the southeast elevator (#2) to the lower level (B) and follow the signs to the Jameen Mape Conference Center. No registration or fee is required. Light refreshments will be served and there will be a time for fellowship. Please bring a picture (any size) of your loved one. Youth group offering Gift Wrapping on Dec. 13 Free Community Gift Wrapping will be offered from 6:30-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 13, at the law offices of Wornson Goggins Neisen Morris & Brever P.C. at 119 Main St. New Prague. FaithPoint Lutheran Youth Group is sponsoring this event, which is made possible by a Thrivent Action Grant.

Prairie Quilters to hold Holiday Party on Dec. 14 The Prairie Quilters of the New Prague area will hold their next meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 14. They meet at City Hall, 118 Central Ave. N in the second floor meeting room. This is their Holiday Party, so people should bring the food they signed up for. Club member Reidun has the list. if you need to call. Those attending should also bring their fat quarter of material (wrapped) to the meeting. Come to have a fun evening! NAMI sponsoring training program in Savage on Dec. 14 NAMI Minnesota will sponsor a free Parent Training on Chemical Use by Adolescents program from 6-7:30 p.m., on Thursday, Dec. 14, at Savage Library, 13090 Alabama Ave., in the small meeting room. Participants of this class will learn: How chemical use is often used as a negative coping strategy to deal with mental health conditions, current drug trends, signs and symptoms, how parents can help their child be drug-free, and information regarding Sober Schools. ‘Our Czech Heritage Club’ holding dinner Our Czech Heritage Club is pleased to announce the Old World Christmas Market was a fabulous success. The club would like to remind people there will be no December meeting at the New Prague Memorial Library, instead they will be celebrating with their annual duck dinner. Invitations will be sent.

New Prague Area Toastmasters Club celebrates 25 years The New Prague Area Toastmasters Club will be celebrating its 25 year anniversary this December. The club invites all past members and the public to attend their meeting on Thursday, Dec. 14, to commemorate the event. This special meeting and celebration event will be held at the First Bank & Trust (formerly State Bank of New Prague) community meeting room beginning at 7 p.m. Special guest speaker for the evening will be District 6 Toastmaster Director Harold Osmundson. Toastmasters is an organization dedicated to helping people become more competent and comfortable in public speaking situations and in developing effective leadership skills.
