Suicide Grief Support Group holding Memorial Service Dec. 13 Family, friends and anyone who has lost a loved one to suicide are invited to attend a Memorial Service held by the Suicide Grief Support Group. This service is an annual event held during the Christmas season to honor and remember those who have been lost to suicide. The service will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 13 beginning at 7 p.m. and will be held at the Mayo Clinic Health System, 301 Second St. NE in New Prague. Please enter through the Emergency Room doors (southwest entrance) and take the southeast elevator (#2) to the lower level and follow the signs to the Jameen Mape Conference Center. No registration or fee is required. Light refreshments will be served and there will be a time for fellowship. Please bring a picture (any size) of your loved one. NAMI has parent support group meeting on Dec. 20 NAMI Minnesota (National Alliance on Mental Illness) provides support groups to help parents discover resources to meet the challenges of raising a child with mental illness, learn coping skills and develop problemsolving skills. Parent resource groups are facilitated by a parent who has a child with a mental illness and who has been trained to lead support groups. A parent resource group meets in Prior Lake from 6-7:30 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month at The LINK Event Center, 2200 Trail of Dreams. A daytime group also meets in Savage from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month at Caribou Coffee Company, 7745 Egan Dr. For information, contact NAMI at 651-645-2948. The next two meetings are Tuesday, Dec. 20, and Thursday, Jan. 5. NAMI Minnesota is a nonprofit organization that works to improve the lives of children and adults with mental illnesses and their families through its programs of education, support and advocacy.
Separated & Divorce Support Group meeting Jan. 3 and 17 The Area Separated & Divorce Support Group "Healing Broken Relationships" meets the first and third Tuesday of the month from 7-8:30 p.m. at St. Wenceslaus Church, lower level, 215 Main St. E. New Prague. The next sessions are January 3 and 17. Come and experience good support as you move through this time in your life. People of all faiths are welcome.
