Car Seat Checkup event is Dec. 22 For those who are traveling with children this holiday season, the New Prague Area EMS Association and New Prague Auto Group invite you to get your car seats checked to make sure they are properly installed before driving to those get-togethers.
A free checkup event is planned for 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, at the New Prague Chevrolet service bays. Each car seat takes about 20 minutes to check; no appointments are necessary; walkins are welcome.

NP Sportsman Club meets Dec. 27 The New Prague Sportsman Club will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, at the American Legion Club Room. All members are encouraged to attend. Membership renewal for 2013 can be done at the meeting. Information: Billy Bartusek (952-758-8655).
Scott Sheriff’s Academy signup is underway The Scott County Sheriff’s Citizens’ Academy increases citizens’ awareness of law enforcement and provides information to the citizens who attend so they can make informed decisions about police activity. The academy is designed to dispel suspicions and misconceptions and to promote relationships between the Sheriff’s Office and the community to whom we serve.
The Sheriff’s Citizens’ Academy will meet Monday evenings for nine weeks starting February 25, 2013. Applicants should be 18 years of age and live, work or attend school in Scott County. (Preference given for first time applicants.)
All applications must be submitted by February 8, 2013. Participants must agree to allow the Sheriff’s Office to run a background check.
