Holy Trinity Church hosting Bingo Feb. 14 Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Veseli will have Bingo 1 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14. The admission includes one card and lunch. Veseli is located between New Prague and Lonsdale.

Legion Auxiliary meets Feb. 16 Local Unit 45 of the American Legion Auxiliary will meet 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, at the American Legion Park Ballroom, 300 Lexington Ave. S. There will be a meal at 6:30 p.m. in the club room. Items on the agenda will include next month's Quilt Show. Members of the bar committee are Dolly Kabes, Mary Miller and Liz Musil.

Lonsdale seniors to meet Feb. 16 The Lonsdale area wide seniors will meet 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, at the IC Civic Center in Lonsdale. Cards and bingo will be played with a supper served at 4 p.m. All seniors over 60 are welcome to attend. For more info call Don at 507-744-2408.

Civil War Talk on Feb. 18 The Scott County Historical Society will hold "Civil War Talk: Black Soldiers & Native Americans" from 7-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18. Guest presenter Rep. Dean Urdahl will share the history of black soldiers and Dakota Indians fighting for Minnesota in the Civil War. A former history teacher and current Minnesota House Representative, Urdahl has written and presented extensively on the Civil War. Copies of his books will be available for purchase at the event. Elementary Science Fair needs judges Volunteers are needed as judges for New Prague Elementary Schools’ District Science Fair on Saturday, March 12. It will be held at New Prague Middle School from noon to 2:30 p.m. Organizers of the science fair can provide training for volunteers at noon and then keep them busy judging fourth through sixth grade projects until approximately 2:30 p.m. There are a lot of young scientists signed up so the science fair needs a lot of help.
