Spaghetti Supper fundraiser to be held Feb. 3 in ENM A Spaghetti Supper fundraiser is planned for Windmill Animal Rescue in Elko New Market on Friday, Feb. 3. The dinner will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at The Doublewide, located at 421 St. Joseph St. All proceeds will go to support the animal rescue operation. Windmill Animal Rescue is part of Windmill Feed & Pet Supply at 350 Main St. in Elko New Market. The store carries an assortment of food, toys, and other pet items. Windmill Animal Rescue's goal is to help all types of animals in need, as resources allow. Wild animals are placed with licensed rehabilitators for care or release back into their natural habitat. Domestic pets in the rescue are cared for by volunteers and receive medical care from veterinarians in the area. Ice fishing contest to be held Feb. 5 The 43rd Annual Fish Lake Sportsmen Club Ice Fishing Contest will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday Feb. 5. Fish Lake is located on Scott County Road 10 east of Highway 13 between Prior Lake and New Prague. Ice holes will be drilled and minnows will be furnished during the event, which is sponsored by Hollow Point Bait and Firearms New Prague. Cash prizes will be awarded for the largest fish as well as continuous prize drawings will be given out on the lake. There will be a drawing for a cash prize at 3 p.m. (winner need not be present), with a special auger and Vexilar drawing during the contest as well. Food, coffee and hot chocolate will also be available for purchase. The event will be held snow or sun and temperature or ice conditions will not stop it.

MN Adult and Teen Challenge offering Feb. 6 program Minnesota Adult and Teen Challenge is offering “Know the Truth,” a conversation on drug and alcohol addiction from 6-7:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 6, at the New Prague High School auditorium, 221 12th St NE. The program will feature chemical health specialist Christopher Hirdler and topics will include drug trends in the community, student and parent testimonies and a question and answer panel. No registration is needed for this program.

Soup dinner and bowl sale to be held Feb. 7 A soup dinner and bowl sale will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 7, in the main gym at Falcon Ridge Elementary School, 1200 Columbus Ave N. There is a small fee for the soup dinner with a choice of chicken wild rice or broccoli cheese soup with crackers and lemonade. Student made bowls will be on sale for a small fee per bowl. This night is to help raise money for the local food shelf, the Peace Center. Silent auction items will be on display and available for bidding at the event. Over the past six years this event has raised more than $7,900 for the local food shelf, please join and help fight local hunger.

Beyond the Yellow Ribbon to meet Feb. 7 Beyond the Yellow Ribbon South of the River (BTYR) will be meeting from 7-8:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 7, in the lower level of the Prior Lake VFW Club. All meetings are open to the public and the group welcomes people’s participation as well as their ability to volunteer. St. Catherine’s Pancake and Sausage Breakfast is on Feb. 12 St. Catherine’s Church of Spring Lake will be holding an All You Can Eat Pancake and Sausage Breakfast from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 12. Everyone is welcome to the church along Scott County Road 8.

Most Holy Trinity Church Bingo Feb. 12 Most Holy Trinity Church in Veseli will be having Bingo at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 12. There is a small admission price that includes one card and lunch.

St. Nicholas Church to hold ‘At the Movies’ Feb. 17 St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Elko New Market welcomes area residents to “At the Movies,” a family movie night on Friday, Feb. 17. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the movie is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. There is no charge to attend this event, which is hosted by the St. Nicholas Council of Catholic Women. Snacks and refreshments will be available for purchase. All children must be accompanied by their parent. This event is open to all faith communities.

NAMI offering class for parents on Feb. 22 A child or teen with Reactive Attachment Disorder (RAD) has a specific kind of Post-traumatic Stress Disorder - a terror of vulnerability following severe attachment disruptions in the first years of life, which challenge current family relationships. Learn the patterns of behavior children with RAD use to get survival needs met. Participants will also have an opportunity to obtain parenting ideas to build “felt security,” a key ingredient for trauma healing for both child and parent. This class is for family members, not professionals or educators. Sponsored by NAMI Minnesota (National Alliance on Mental Illness), this free class will be held in Lakeville from 6:30-8:30 p.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 22, at Crystal Lake Education Center, 16250 Ipava Ave. Teaching the class will be Krista Nelson, LICSW, LMFT, Project Coordinator for the Wilder Foundation Center for Children with Reactive Attachment Disorder.
