Habitat informational meeting March 24 New Prague Habitat for Humanity is offering a free informational meeting that explains what the group does and who qualifies to purchase a Habitat home. People will also learn how to apply to be considered for ownership of the sixth New Prague Habitat house, which will be built in 2016. The 30 minute meeting will be at the New Prague Public Library, 400 Main St E, at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 24. History of Lonsdale to be held March 29 The Rice County Historical Society is offering a 90th Anniversary Celebration event about the history of Lonsdale. The event will be at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, at the Rice County Historical Society. Join local historian Steve Vosejpka for this program on Lonsdale history. The program will include information about early settlement, the importance of the railroad, the establishment of Lonsdale and information about present day Lonsdale. The program also includes a treasure trove of historic Lonsdale photographs that help illustrate the town’s history. The program is at the Rice County Historical Society, 1814 Second St. NW, Faribault. There is a small admission for non-members and is free for members. Reservations are encouraged. Sportsman’s Club to meet March 31 The New Prague Sportsman's Club will be having its monthly meeting on Thursday March 31. It will begin at 7 p.m. and be at the American Legion Club Room.
