Senior Citizens to meet April 1 The New Prague Senior Citizens will meet at 12:45 p.m. Friday, April 1, at the New Prague City Hall, second floor meeting room, 118 Central Ave. N. The lunch committee will be Marion Simon and Muretta Prokes. The bus picks up senior citizens for local shopping every Wednesday. The bus goes to Burnsville the third Thursday of each month. For reservations call 952-496-8341. All seniors are welcome to join the club for meetings and cards the first Friday of each month at 12:45 p.m.

St. Patrick Spring Bake Sale April 2 A Spring Bake Sale & Boutique will be held at the St. Patrick's Social Hall on Saturday, April 2, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. The event will feature fresh-baked cinnamon and caramel rolls, as well as lots of homemade goodies including cookies, cakes and breads. Home Party representatives and vendors will also be on hand with a wide selection of household items, cosmetics and gifts. St. Patrick's is located at 24425 Old Hwy. 13 Blvd., north of New Prague. The St. Patrick Council of Catholic Women is sponsoring the event.

Lonsdale Golden Agers to meet April 5 The Lonsdale area seniors (Golden Agers) will meet at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 5, at the IC Civic Center in Lonsdale. Euchre will be played and a supper to follow. All area seniors over 60 are welcome to attend. For more information call Don at 507-744-2408.

VFW Post 5145 to meet April 7 New Prague VFW Post 5145 will hold its monthly meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, at the Park Ballroom Club Room, 300 Lexington Ave. S. Lunch will be served at 7 p.m. Election of officers will be held. At the last VFW meeting, $500 was donated to Golf Classic. The money goes toward Le Sueur County van. All veterans are welcome. First year membership is paid by the post for new members, so sign up now.

St. Patrick Euchre Tournament on April 8 The St. Patrick Men’s Club Euchre Tournament will be held Friday, April 8, with registration at 6:30 p.m. and the tourney beginning at 7:30 p.m. It will be held at the St. Patrick Social Hall, 24425 Old Hwy. 13 Blvd., north of New Prague. There is a cost per team with cash prizes awarded to the top four teams. Food and beverages will be available.

Valleyfair history exhibit to begin April 14 The Scott County Historical Society welcomes people to join them for the opening of their newest exhibit, "Valleyfair: Celebrating 40 Years of Fun!" It will be held from 7- 8 p.m. Thursday, April 14, at the historical society, 235 Fuller St. S., Shakopee. Check out photos and objects from Valleyfair’s four decades of operation and listen to presentations by Dave Frazier, Valleyfair Vice President and General Manager, and Tom Suel, Valleyfair Director of Maintenance. This event is free and light refreshments will be served. The Scott County Historical Society in Shakopee is located three blocks south of the intersection of Co. Rd. 101 and Fuller Street. Pillow cleaning to help mission trip The St. Wenceslaus Guatemala Mission Trip welcomes everyone to Carlson Pillow Cleaning Service, to be held from 7-8 p.m. Friday, April 15, and 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 16, at the St. Wenceslaus Parish Activity Center, 215 Main St. E. Pillows will be cleaned, deodorized, sanitized and fluffed. This mobile unit offers same day service – while you wait. There will also be custom made new pillows and comforters for sale. Proceeds will go to support the St. Wenceslaus Youth Guatemala Mission Trip for the summer of 2016.
