Grief Support Group meets March 19 A Grief Support Group meets the third Tuesday of each month in the parish office building of St. Wenceslaus Church, 215 Main St. E, in New Prague. The next meeting is 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 19.

This group is open to all who are grieving the loss of someone significant in their lives. All are welcome to get the support that is needed at this time in their lives. For more information call Deacon Bob Wagner at 952-758- 2716.

Legion Post 45 meets Feb. 19 Charles Borak Post 45 of the American Legion, New Prague, will hold a regular monthly meeting at the Park Ballroom clubroom 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 19.

Dues for 2013 may be paid at the meeting. Lunch and refreshments will follow the meeting.

Legion Auxiliary meeting March 19 Charles Borak American Legion Auxiliary Unit #45 of New Prague will have its regular monthly meeting 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 19. The third District Convention to be held in New Prague the weekend of May 17, 18, and 19 will be on the agenda. The Lunch Bar Committee for the March meeting: Shirley Sautter, Cindy Schanus, Kay Schanus and Noreen Seurer.

The Auxiliary will be hosting the evening Bingo at Mala Strana 6 p.m. Thursday, March 14.

Lonsdale Golden Agers will meet on March 19 The Lonsdale Golden Agers meeting will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, at the Lonsdale Civic Center. Sloppy Joes will be served. Cards and bingo will be played. The Lunch Committee is Rosie Tuma and Nancy Wacker. For more information call Mary at 507-744- 2608.

Alzheimer’s Association meeting March 19 The Lutheran Home: Belle Plaine and its Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association provide resources and a support group for community members whose lives are touched by Alzheimer’s disease and other memory loss disorders. The monthly support group is free and open to the public.

The next meeting is from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, at Kingsway Retirement Living in the Ratzkeller. Mark Reese, a counselor at the University of Minnesota, will be presenting "Turning Point."

Therapeutic Respite Care is available for loved ones with Alzheimer’s/dementia for the hour while attending the support group meeting.

CAP Agency WIC Voucher pick-up The CAP Agency WIC voucher pick-up dates for all residents of Scott County are the second Monday, third Thursday and fourth Tuesday of each month. The next pick up dates are March 21 and 26. Pick up time is from 9 a.m. – noon and 1 – 4 p.m. at the CAPAgency, 712 Canterbury Rd. S in Shakopee. Friedens Church offers Easter for Kids on March 23 Friedens Evangelical Lutheran Church, 28983 181st Ave, invites all children ages 4 through fourth grade to Easter for Kids. This free event is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 23, at the church two miles west of New Prague on Highway 19 and one mile south on 181st Ave, Le Sueur County Road 30.

Scott County HHW Facility closed for Easter The Scott County Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Facility will be closed on Saturday, March 30, for the Easter Holiday Weekend. The HHW Facility will reopen for normal operation on Wednesday, April 3. The RE-USE Room will also be closed on Saturday, March 30.

The Scott County HHW Facility is at 588 Country Trail East (Hwy 282), just west of the intersection of MN Highways 13 and 282 and County Road 17, in Spring Lake Township. The HHW Facility provides safe and proper management of unwanted household chemicals and products, as well as electronics, appliances, and tires. The RE-USE Room contains hundreds of items, which are available for free.
