Spring Bake Sale & Boutique is April 22 A Spring Bake Sale & Boutique will be held at the St. Patrick's Social Hall from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 22. The event will feature fresh-baked cinnamon and caramel rolls, as well as lots of home-made goodies including cookies, cakes and breads. Home Party representatives and vendors will also be on hand with a wide selection of household items, cosmetics and gifts. St. Patrick's is located at 24425 Old Hwy. 13 Blvd., northeast of New Prague. The St. Patrick Council of Catholic Women is sponsoring the event.

Scouting for Food collection is April 22 Boy Scout Troop 323 and Cub Scout Pack 323 of New Prague will be teaming up the week of Monday, April 17 for the annual Scouting for Food event. Scouts across the nation will be collecting food for local food centers. Boy Scouts placed bags on doors on every home within the city of New Prague on Monday, April 17. New Prague residents are asked to leave their donations near their front door on Saturday, April 22. Cub Scouts and their families will collect the food on Saturday morning and deliver it to the Peace Center.

New Prague Area Community Band Kickoff Concert is April 23 The New Prague Area Community Band, directed by Rush Wagner, welcomes the public to the Summer Series Kickoff Concert 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 23, at the New Prague High School auditorium, 221 12th St NE. This year's concert series is titled “Celestial," and features pieces related to sky and space. Joining the band for this concert is the Valve-ation Army Band, an ensemble from Tri-City United High School under the direction of Erik Root.

Suicide Grief Support Group to meet on April 25 Family, friends and anyone who has lost a loved one to suicide are welcome to attend the monthly meeting of the Suicide Grief Support Group. The meeting will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 25, at the Mayo Clinic Health System, 301 Second St. NE in New Prague. Please enter through the Emergency Room doors (southwest entrance) and take the southeast elevator (#2) to the lower level and follow the signs to the Jameen Mape Conference Room. PFLAG meeting on April 25 PFLAG (Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians, Gays and Transgenders) meets at 7 p.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 1300 Main St E, in New Prague, on the fourth Tuesday of each month. The next meeting is April 25. For questions call 952-292-6758.

Scott Co. Hist. Society Garden Planting Party is April 27 The Scott County Historical Society will hold a Garden Planting Party & Heirloom Gardening Presentations from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 27. Get your hands dirty and help the society prep and plant the Museum Garden for the summer. At 7 p.m., guest presenter T.J. Malaskee, President of the State Grange of Minnesota, will give a presentation on heirloom gardening. It is free to attend both the garden planting party and presentation. Cost for attending just the presentation is regular museum admission. RSVP is appreciated, call 952-445-0378.
