New Prague Sportsman’s Club meets April 25 The New Prague Sportsman’s Club will have its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 25. It will be held at the American Legion Club Room. All members are encouraged to come. Any questions call Billy Bartusek 952-758-8655.

Watercolor Class at Scott Co. Historical Society April 25 Scott County Historical Society rescheduled its "Watercolor Class" to Thursday, April 25, from 7-8 p.m. This made it possible for additional spots to become available.

Local artist Sue Melchior will demonstrate and teach the basics of watercolor painting. Create your own watercolor to take home. Registration required call 952-445-0378 or info@scottcountyhistory.org .

There is a small registration fee for adults and students, which includes admission to the Museum and viewing the "Paintings by Sue Melchior" exhibit.

The Scott County Historical Society is located at 235 Fuller St. S, Shakopee, three blocks south of the intersection of Co. Rd. 101 and Fuller Street.

Garden Fun Kids Kraft April 27 Gather up the children and head to the Stans Museum for some great family fun. Garden Fun Kids Kraft is from 10:30 - 11:15 a.m. Saturday, April 27. Listen to the story "Planting a Rainbow" by Lois Ehlert and decorate your own flower pots. This is a free event, although registration is required for supplies. Call 952-445-0378 or email info@scottcountyhistory. org. Admission to the museum and research library are free that day too.

Offered on a regular monthly schedule, October through April, Kids Kraft engages children 4-8 years old through pictures, stories and hands-on activities. This program introduces children to museums, promotes reading, and incorporates fun, "old-fashioned" hands-on crafts that families can enjoy together.

Knights of Columbus chicken BBQ April 28 The Knights of Columbus are having a chicken barbecue Sunday, April 28, at the New Prague KC Hall, 411 Fourth Ave. SW. This is their final fundraiser for the year with proceeds to go towards the Knights’ charitable causes.

Menu includes chicken, homemade potato slaw, cole slaw, green beans, bread, cake, milk and coffee. There is a cost per plate. Take outs are available and serving will be from 5 to 7 p.m.

Lonsdale Golden Agers meet April 30 The Lonsdale Golden Agers meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, in the Lonsdale Civic Center. Subways will be served. The lunch committee is Lillian Tupy, Elsie Sirek and Delores Kalina. New members are welcome. For more information call Mary at 507-744- 2608.

Le Sueur Co. Council, American Legion, meet May 1 The Le Sueur County Council of the American Legion and Auxiliary will hold a quarterly meeting at New Prague at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 1. New Prague Post 45 and Auxiliary Unit will host the event and it will be held at the American Legion club room in New Prague at the Park Ballroom. Commi ttee reports will be given. Included on the agenda will be the county veterans’ service officer’s report and election of officers. Darlene Wondra, securitytreasurer, will be the guest speaker. Her topic will be "Project New Hope, A Veterans Retreat." Legion and Auxiliary members of posts in Le Sueur County are welcome to attend this meeting.

Lunch and refreshments will be served afterwards.

VFW Post 5145, Auxiliary to meet May 2 Gopher Post 5145, New Prague Veterans of Foreign Wars, and its Auxiliary, will hold their regular monthly meeting 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 2, at the Park Ballroom, New Prague. Lunch and refreshments will be served prior to the meeting starting at 7 p.m.

New Prague Senior Citizens meet May 3 The New Prague Senior Citizens will meet at 12:45 p.m. Friday, May 3, at New Prague City Hall, second floor club room. Marion Simon will be in charge of the lunch. The bus picks up senior citizens for local shopping every Wednesday and goes to Burnsville the third Thursday of the month. For reservations call 952-496- 8341. All seniors are welcome to join the club for meetings and cards on the first Friday of each month at 12:45 p.m.

Separated and Divorce Support Group meets May 7 The Area Separated and Divorce Support Group meets the first Tuesday of the month from 7-8:30 p.m. at St. Wenceslaus Church, lower level, 215 Main St. E., New Prague. The next session is May 7. Come and experience good support as you move through this time in your life. People of all faiths are welcome.
