Growing Through Grief group meeting is June 13 Designed to meet the needs of those experiencing grief due to the death of a loved one or those companioning someone experiencing loss, the Growing through Grief support group can help through education and peer support. Whether your loss has happened recently or several years ago, this support group can help you through a lonely and frightening time.

The meeting will be held from 7 - 8:30 p.m. Thursday, June 13, in the Solarium at Mayo Clinic Health System in New Prague. Registration appreciated. To register or receive more information, contact the spiritual care department at 952-758-8176.

Prairie Quilters to meet June 13 The Prairie Quilters of the New Prague area will hold their next meeting from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, June 13, at New Prague City Hall. Members should bring their imaginations for a team challenge. Also bring Show and Tell items and ideas. It should be a fun night with not a lot of thinking, just enjoyment.

Car seat safety checkups are June 15 Parents from Scott and Le Sueur counties are welcome to have their car seats checked for correct installation and recalls at a free monthly checkup event from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 15, at the New Prague Chevrolet dealership on Highway 19 east of New Prague. It takes roughly 20 minutes to check each car seat; no appointments are necessary, and walk-ins are always welcome.

Grandparents, expectant parents and others who transport children on a regular basis are invited to attend. New Prague Auto Group and the New Prague Area EMS Association are sponsors of this event each month.

Trained Child Passenger Safety Technician volunteers will check for car seat manufacturer recalls, provide educational handouts, answer questions and offer tips to drivers to ensure correct installation of all child passenger safety restraints. American Legion Post 45 will meet June 18 Charles Borak Post 45, New Prague American Legion, will meet 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, at the club room at the Park Ballroom.

Installation of recently elected officers will be held.

Lunch and refreshments will be served after the meeting.

Legion Auxiliary meets June 18 Charles Borak American Legion Auxiliary Unit 45 of New Prague will have its regular monthly meeting 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 18. POTLUCK: Those attending are asked to bring a dish to share.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. with installation of officers for the coming year. There are no meetings in July and August, meetings will resume on Tuesday, Sept. 17.

Regional Grief Support Group meets June 18 This grief support group meets the third Tuesday of each month in the parish office building of St. Wenceslaus Church, 215 Main St E, in New Prague. The next meeting is 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 18. This group is open to all who are grieving the death of someone significant in their lives. All are welcome to get the support that is needed at this time in their lives. For more information call Deacon Bob Wagner at 952-758-2716.

Alzheimer’s Ass’n. meets June 18 The Lutheran Home: Belle Plaine and its Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association provide resources and a support group for community members whose lives are touched by Alzheimer’s disease and other memory loss disorders. The monthly support group is free and open to the public.

The next meeting is from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 18, at Kingsway Retirement Living in the Ratzkeller. "Caring and Sharing" will be the topic. Questions call Sarah Beckius at 952-873-2161.

Therapeutic Respite Care is available for loved ones with Alzheimer’s/dementia for the hour while attending the Support Group Meeting.
