Friedges memorial softball tourneys June 22-23 The Sixth Annual Men and Women’s Softball Tournament in Memory of Melissa Ann Friedges is Saturday, June 22, and Sunday, June 23, at J.C. Park, 600 Arizona St. NW, Lonsdale. Friedges attended Holy Cross Catholic School and New Prague High School.

The event raises money for the Melissa Ann Friedges Memorial Fund, which develops and maintains athletic fields in area communities, the Athletic Association at Holy Cross Catholic School and for scholarships at local high schools.

Activities include a bean bag tournament, food shelf donation and silent and live auctions. There is an entry fee for the tournament and prizes.

Community Band performs June 23 The New Prague Area Community Band will perform a concert 1:30 p.m. Sunday, June 23, at the Lonsdale Civic Center, 108 First Ave. SE, Lonsdale.

Suicide Grief Support Group meets June 25 Family, friends, and anyone who has lost a loved one to suicide, is invited to join the monthly meeting of the Suicide Grief Support Group from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 25, at the Mayo Clinic Health System (hospital), in the Jameen Mape Conference Room in New Prague.

Enter through the Emergency Room doors (southwest entrance) and take the southeast elevator marked "2" to the lower level (B) and follow the signs. No registration or fee is required. Call Sally Schmid at 952-758- 4735 with any questions.

Golden Agers meet June 25 The Lonsdale Golden Agers meeting will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, at the Lonsdale Civic Center. Chicken will be served. Lunch committee is Dorothy Krocak, Rosie Tuma and Darlene Rezac. New members are welcome. For more information call Mary at 507- 744-2608.
