Bruce Bjork

(DFL-Le Sueur) grew up in Le Sueur, graduating from high school there in 1979. He attended Hamline University and taught in Texas before enlisting in the military.

He spent three years as an intelligence analyst based in Ft. Bragg, NC, and was also in an airborne unit, having made 15 jumps.

He left the army in 1995, but stayed in North Carolina. He began work on a doctorate in construction technology at North Carolina State University, but then transferred to Duke University, where he attended the seminary. He is an ordained minister of the United Methodist Church. He worked in several positions in North Carolina, then returned to Minnesota in 1997. He works for the Greater Minneapolis Council of Churches, developing programs that involve partnership with churches, non-profits and local governments. He also served on the Le Sueur-Henderson school board for four years, from 2000-2003.

His wife is a nurse at Sibley Medical Center in Arlington.

He says he is running for several reasons.
