Neisen named girls golf coach at NPHS

Steffi Neisen has been named Head Girls Golf Coach at New Prague High School, pending approval from the New Prague Area School Board.
She replaces Dan Holgate, who has been head coach for the past five seasons. Holgate’s 2013 team finished second in the state Class AAA tournament. Holgate recently resigned as head coach.
Neisen is a native of New Prague and graduated from NPHS in 2010. While at New Prague High School, she played golf for the Trojans and was the captain of the conference, section, and 2010 MSHSL AAA Championship team. She went on to play golf collegiately at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, earning honors such as the Big Ten Sportsmanship award, the Nebraska Student Athlete Hero Award, and distinguished Big12 and Big 10 academic honors. She has also played in six USGA National Championships. She received her Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Secondary Social-Science Education from UN-L.
Neisen has been the New Prague JV girls’ golf coach for the past three years.  She is in her third year as an eighth grade geography teacher at New Prague Middle School.  In addition to teaching and coaching golf, Neisen enjoys traveling, attending music events, golfing, art, and watching sports.
