Nellie Smith Lamping, 90
Nellie Smith Lamping was born January 17, 1927 and passed away Sept. 4, 2017. Nellie was a resident of Randle, Washington. She was 90 years old. She was the daughter of Frank and Nellie Smith, born in St. Paul, was raised in Morristown, MN, and graduated in 1945 from Morristown High School (which was then grades 1-12). Nellie went to Oregon and met her husband, Bernard Lamping. They married in 1946. Bernard died in 1991. Nellie was a stay-at-home mother having 10 children, 8 boys and 2 girls. Most of the children live nearby. She had 63 grand and great-grand children.Nellie is survived by two brothers: Gordon and Marilyn Smith of Faribault, and Louis and Thelma Smith of Perris, California. She is also survived by three sisters: Lois Meschke of Rapidan, Eva Tieman of Rochester, and Jeannette Marley of Preston, MN. Nellie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, by one brother, Frank (Ike) Jr., two sisters, Pearl Bailey and Alice Cesafsky. Nellie will be missed by those who knew and loved her. A celebration of Nellie's life was held Sept. 30 at the Randle Fire Hall.
