New Prague archers strong at Faribault tourney

The New Prague archers participated in the Faribault Falcons Archery Tournament this past weekend and finished strong. The High School Team finished in first place with a team score of 3,266. Individual medal earners were Danny Musil, second with a score of 287, and Ryan Wetschka, fifth with a score of 282 in the male division. Kaiyah Swick placed fifth in the female division. Other high school archers doing well were Blake Smith – 281, Rachel Blanchette-275, Morgan Larson-275 Jessica Hagglund-274, Jacob Love-267, Mackenzie Vlasak-266, Taylor Barlage-264, and Logan Biren-264.

The Middle School archers finished third with a team score of 3,154. Archers making the podium included Cory Schroeder with a score of 276, finishing third in the boys division, and Cara Chadderdon, finishing third for the girls with a score of 277. Other middle school archers doing well included Jordan Clay-275, Tyler Grabner-275, Jack Tilden- 275, Breanna Franek-266, Sophia Metzdorff-261, Jayda Blaschko-260, Abby Barlage-259, and Sam Decker-259.

Elementary archer Ireland Williamson took the top girls spot with a score of 273, and teammate Carissa Chadderdon placed third with a score of 249. And the top boys elementary archer was New Prague’s Parker Pint with a score of 270. Other top scoring elementary archers were Carson Valek-236, Savannah Tilden-227, Brienna Klepperich-217, Isabela Sirek-216, Vlad Lexa-213, and Mason Christenson- 211. The club’s future is looking bright!

The club is now preparing for its home tournament this Saturday Feb, 3, at New Prague High School.
