New Prague HS announces technology outreach program

New Prague High School has begun a technology outreach program for students who have no home computers, so they can use them for schoolwork.

The school is seeking used computers to be donated to high school students. Those interested in donating the computers should call Angie Erickson, 952-758-1214, or Jon Shriver, 952-758-1344, to make arrangements. Computers can be dropped off at a specified location. Donors will need to pay a small fee to cover the cost of refurbishing the computer. This includes a secure hard-drive format/delete and any maintenance or disposal costs if the computer doesn't work.

Computers will be refurbished at a local business in New Prague. Donors receive receipts for their donations, which are tax-deductible, and the high school guidance office will complete the process by identifying each recipient.

Students can apply for a computer at the high school guidance office. Recipients are chosen based on availability of computers, number of school-age children in the home and family income.

For more information or to donate, call Erickson or Shriver at the high school.
