By Patrick Fisher

A head-on crash between two vehicles occurred early January 22 along Rice County Road 86 with one person being airlifted from the scene.

According to the Rice County Sheriff’s Office the crash happened at 1:05 p.m. on Scott/Rice County Road 86, three-fourths of a mile east of Highway 19. Brian Blumberg, 26, of Webster was westbound in a 1994 Ford truck on the county road when he came up behind a Rice County snowplow, also westbound. Blumberg became disoriented due to snow from the plow, which was also being blown about by a south wind.
