New spot, same market

The New Prague Farmers Market has some new aspects for its 2016 season. First and foremost when it opened on Saturday, May 7, it was in a new location. The market is now in the parking lot of East Town Plaza adjacent to Main Street.

"The Deutsch family was kind enough to let us use their parking lot," said Angelica Bisek of Bisek Bees, which she runs with her husband Joe. The couple are in charge of the Farmers Market this year. Angelica Bisek said the new location will provide more visibility for the market. She added, "We hope to attract walkers who are out and more traffic going through town."

The New Prague Farmers Market is also combining with vendors from the Lonsdale Farmers Market. The two will have vendors attending both markets. The Lonsdale market is open on Thursdays from 4:30-7 p.m. and New Prague’s market will be open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon. New Prague will also be open Wednesday afternoons starting in mid-June, once more produce is available.

The Farmers Market offers a variety of vegetables, honey, items derived from beeswax and baked goods.
