No action taken on sign ordinance changes

It's said that change comes slowly. That was evident on Wednesday, Nov. 15, as discussion at the New Prague Planning and Zoning Commission meeting on proposed changes to the city's sign ordinance was continued until the commission's December 20 meeting.
There are 22 proposed changes to the ordinance, which is being considered by the planning commission. New Prague City Planner Ken Ondich told the nearly 30 people at the November 15 meeting that any existing signs will not be affected by the amendments, as they will be grandfathered in. The changes are being proposed in areas where city staff has noticed problems with the zoning ordinance language in the past, particularly with temporary and portable signs.
