Nora Krueger, 109

Nora Krueger, died Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at Mala Strana Rehabilitation Center, in New Prague, MN, just 2 1/2 weeks short of her 110th birthday.

Nora was born February 13, 1906, to Leonard and Anna (Runnels) Webb in Stiener, Pawnee County, Nebraska. She was the eldest of six siblings and lived in a sod house in the sand hills of Nebraska until the family moved to Kearney, NE in the early 1910's. She graduated from Kearney High School and married John H. Krueger on December 24, 1930, in Kansas. She had a son, Charles Oliver, in September of 1937 but also raised her brother, Richard's, daughter, Lela Webb, when Lela's mother died in childbirth. She was a homemaker until her husband died in 1963 and then she worked in the laundry department in a Tuberculosis Sanitarium. Nora lived in the Nebraska area until moving to New Prague, MN, in 2001. She was noted for her enthusiasm and fierce independence. Nora is survived by her special niece, Lela Rust of Lincoln, IL; grandchildren, Cindy (Jim) Beno of NE, Vicky (Andrew) Hanson of NE, Randy of NE, John (Cara) Krueger of MN, Lisa Roseland of MN; nephew, Lonnie (Eunice) Webb of New Prague; brother, Dean Webb of Billings, MT; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 greatgreat- grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, February 1, 2016, at 4:00 PM at Bruzek Funeral Home with Chaplain Mary Jean Horstmann of Mayo Clinic Health System New Prague officiating. A graveside service will take place at Kearney, NE at a later date.
