Norbert B. Turensky, 75

Norbert B. Turensky, 75, of rural Henderson, died on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2006, at Minnesota Valley Health Center in Le Sueur.

He was born on July 31, 1930, in Two Rivers, WI, to Charles and Ethel (Frank) Turensky. He graduated from Granada High School in 1950 and attended Mankato State College. Norbert served during the Korean War n the U.S, Army from 1951 to 1953.

Norbert married Arleen VanBuskirk on March 19, 1951, in Le Sueur. He was employed at Gopher State Silica (Unimin) from 1954 to 1978. Norbert was then self-employed fabricating farm equipment. He loved horses and was a long-time member of the Le Sueur County Mounted Posse as well as the Henderson American Legion.

He is survived by his wife; children, Tim, Mankato, Guy (Belinda), Lake Crystal, Dean (Margo), Judson, Norleen, St. Peter, Ray (special friend, Kathy Knish) Turensky, Mankato, Jode (Steve) Klehr, New Prague, and Joel (Jennifer) Turensky, Le Sueur; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Bernice (special friend, Don Alwin) Yoder, Hudson, WI.

Norbert was preceded in death by sisters, Lucille Funke and Kathleen Krause; brother, Robert.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Friday at the United Methodist Church in Le Sueur. Rev. William N. Kerr officiated.

Interment, with military honors, was in the Ottawa Cemetery.

Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the United Methodist Church in Le Sueur and one hour prior to the services.
