Odenthal is Torchlight button winner
Megan Odenthal is having a great birthday week.
The fourth grader at Holy Redeemer turned double digits (10 years old) on Wednesday, Oct. 5.
On Friday, Oct. 7, she participated in her school’s popular Marathon and got to ride her bike with her classmates and friends around the Montgomery parks - during the first half of school.
Later that day, the daughter of Ted and Traci Odenthal found out her button design won the Torchlight Parade and Fireworks Button Contest.
The official announcement was made by Torchlight Committee members, Neaner Kriha and Lynn Heinzig. The duo arrived at HRS to surprise Megan and her classmates with the announcement.
Arrangements had been made with the school and Megan’s teacher, Ellie Franek, as well as her mom who was present for the announcement. As an added bonus, Megan’s classmates were also treated to a pizza party sponsored by the Torchlight Committee.
Megan’s design makes it a fourth straight year, that a fourth-grade student from HRS has created the winning design of the winter festival button.
