OK Fathers ... Now It’s Your Turn!

The Moms had their day on May 10, and now it’s Dad’s turn to be remembered in a special way on Sunday, June 21 — Father’s Day and the beginning of summer.

Everyone should have some memories of their Dad, particularly if they’re deceased, or for the lucky ones who still have them around. Sometimes we remember, from long ago, the little things that make a lasting impression.

Some of our Dads were really busy people, particularly if you were growing up during the time when our country was in a war.

I remember my Dad being extremely busy with work, but he usually came home for lunch, and in the summer always took time to play a little catch or hit me a few balls.

My Dad was one of those people who was from the old school of discipline. He didn’t have to do much in that area, for all he had to do was give us that look, and we knew it was time to change our course.

Have a happy and safe Father’s Day!

Fly Your Flag!

Did you remember to display your American Flag on Flag Day, June 14? In fact, many people display their flag all year long, as a sign of dedication, respect, and pride in our country. Shame on anyone who burns a flag as a sign of protest because they are unhappy with something going on in the area. In our opinion, they should be arrested as a traitor.

You’re a Grand Old Flag
You’re a grand old flag, You’re a high flying flag And forever in peace may you wave.
You’re the emblem of The land I love.
The home of the free and the brave.

Ev’ry heart beats true ‘neath the Red, White and Blue,
Where there’s never
a boast or brag. Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
Keep your eye on
the grand old flag.

The beginning of summer is Sunday, June 21. The beginning, really? We’ve already had 90+ degrees, and if that isn’t summer, our brains must be froze from the long winter. However, that’s what the calendar says. Enjoy!
