One admitted to hospital after two-vehicle crash

An Eden Prairie man was admitted to Queen of Peace Hospital in New Prague after a two-vehicle crash that happened at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, at the intersection of Scott County Road 2 (260th Street W) and Drexel Avenue.

Gregory Allen McFarland, 54, was listed in stable condition at the hospital as of Friday, Dec. 21.

According to the Scott County Sheriff's Office, McFarland was northbound on Drexel Avenue when his car was struck at the intersection by a vehicle driven by Tara Lyn Roman, 20, of Elko New Market. Roman was westbound on County Road 2 and failed to stop at the stop sign. The collision caused McFarland's vehicle to roll over into the northwest ditch.

New Prague Ambulance Service transported McFarland to Queen of Peace Hospital. Roman was also transported by New Prague Ambulance to Queen of Peace where she was treated and released.

Assisting the ambulance crew at the scene were members of the New Prague Police Department and New Prague Fire Department.

Roman was charged with failure to stop at the intersection.
