Organic meat business looks to build in Lonsdale

Over the past several months the Lonsdale Economic Development Authority (EDA) and city staff have been putting together promotional materials and marketing the city through the Rice County Community Venture Network -- and it seems that hard work may be paying off.

Recently, Nature's Prime Organic Foods, a distributor of certified organic meat and poultry in Chaska, has been giving the city buying signals as they look to expand their operations.

The EDA approved the company's proposal to purchase land in Lonsdale's industrial park on Industrial Drive and construct a 23,000-square foot facility for their corporate headquarters, and City Administrator Joel Erickson expects to receive a formal letter of intent within the week.

The prospect of this happening is looking optimistic
