Pigeon prank closes high school
An apparent prank has led to the closing of New Prague High School for one day. In a release from the New Prague Area School District it was stated:
Due to an unforeseen circumstance and poor choice by some students at the New Prague High School this morning, Friday, May 19, 2017, the high school was forced to cancel school for the remainder of the day. A number of pigeons were released in the school, which created an an unsafe environment for students and staff. At no time this morning, were any students ever in any danger. A high school prank forced the cancellation of school due to health and safety concerns. School administration is dealing with the situation at the high school and school will be in session as regularly scheduled next week. Students and staff were notified around 8:30 a.m. that today was a “digital learning day.” Teachers will have lesson plans online and students will need to check with their teachers for any assignments.
The Times will have more information when it becomes available.
