Pioneer Power showcases bygone era
Perfect weather and a desire to check out antique farming, manufacturing and labor saving equipment brought masses of people to the opening day of the 43rd annual Le Sueur County Pioneer Power Show on Friday.
Steam-powered machinery, with engines both large and small were among the hundreds of pieces of equipment on display and in use during the weekend-long event, held on County Road 26 west of Montgomery.
Numerous family-friendly activities and events are also on the schedule throughout the weekend, including tractor pull and a parade of equipment. There are also bands, music and plenty of food for the family. Demonstrations also include sawmilling and shingle-milling, using steam-powered equipment from the late 1800’s and early 1900’s.
The show continues through Sunday.
