Post office has new officer in charge
Brian Mutzke is now officer in charge at the Montgomery Post Office.
Mutzke, who hails from St. Peter, took over operations of the local post office on January 24, 2018, after Montgomery Postmaster Marci Norell accepted a postmaster position in Arlington. Norell served the local community since March 2012, first as an officer in charge and then as postmaster in October 2012.
"Marci spent two days with me, helping me learn the ropes, which I'm still climbing. Thankfully, things are well run and the employees are friendly, helpful, and knowledgable. That makes my job a lot easier," stated Mutzke, who is part of the United States Post Office's Research and Development (RD) Team, filling in wherever he is needed.
Mutzke's career with USPS began at the St. Peter Post Office four years ago where he worked as a clerk. He then took a position as a sales and service associate at the Kasota Post Office and joined the RD Team for which he has "done detail" at Waseca, St. Peter, and now Montgomery Post Offices.
