Rice Co. authorities release sketch of suspect

On Thursday, June 16, Rice County authorities released a sketch of a suspect in a shooting at a house party near Northfield on June 11 and are offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction of the subject responsible for the shootings.

As many as 300 people were at a party put on by a Minneapolis rap musician on a 43-acre property in the 4800 block of Elmore Avenue in Webster Township when shots rang out around 3 a.m. A woman was shot in the chest and three men were injured, according to the Rice County Sheriff Troy Dunn.

All of the victims were taken to a hospital, where they were listed in stable condition as of last week.

The male suspect is described as being about 5- foot-7 to 5-foot-8, 150 pounds with a slender build, with medium to dark skin and in his early to mid-20s. The Sheriff's Office did not identify the suspect's race.

Meanwhile, authorities from several law enforcement agencies that responded to the mayhem are asking for anybody with information to call them.

“Innocent people were put in harm’s way by the actions of some in attendance at this gathering,” Dunn said. “Our investigators are actively following up on information learned up to this point. The Sheriff’s Office is again requesting the assistance from attendees of the gathering or anyone from the general public that has information to assist us in our investigation, including anyone with audio or video evidence of the altercation or shooting. Please contact our investigators at 507-334-4391.”

The initial investigation revealed three known vehicles with gunshot damage and more than 20 spent shell casings.
