Roger Hanson, 71
Roger Dean Hanson, 71, of New Prague, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2010, at the St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee.
He was a member of the class of 1957 at DeLaSalle High School and the owner of Kernel Pops of MN.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years Kathy; children Eileen (Chuck) Hunter, Lake Henry, Jim (Lisa) Hanson, Galveston, TX, Kate (Scott) Niemann, Coon Rapids, Peggy (Tim) Eischens, Le Sueur and Maureen (Josh) Lyons, Owatonna; 15 grandchildren Jeremiah, Samantha, Ian, Jonas, Marcy, Nina, Danielle, Tyler, Callie, Tom, Ted, Terry, Tracy, Laura and Shawn; siblings Richard (Vicky) Hanson, Prior Lake, Robert Hanson, St. Paul and Sharleen (Herb) Noble, Marion, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Teresa (Vogel) Hanson; and great-granddaughter Emily Shoutz.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, Nov. 22, at 11 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Jordan.
Visitation was held from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home in Jordan, and also one hour prior to the Mass on Monday.
