Rose Chlan, 82

Rose Mary Chlan, 82, of Montgomery, died Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at Central Health Care in Le Center.

Rose was born August 23, 1930, in L a n e s b u r g Township, a daughter of Frank and Olga (Pikal) Shambour. She attended country school and New Prague Schools. She married Milton Chlan on April 26, 1949, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in New Prague. Rose was a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and Holy Redeemer CCW. She enjoyed gardening, canning and baking.

She is survived by her husband; children Barbara (John) Richter, Milaca, Joyce (Fred) Forcelle, Montgomery, Kathleen (Doug) Ronsberg, Oakdale, and Mark (Lori Lee) Chlan, St. Joseph; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; sisters Harriet Chlan, Montgomery, Shirley (Donald) Trcka, Lonsdale, and Marcy (Jim) Tupy, New Prague.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother Ronald Shambour.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 29, at 10 a.m., at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montgomery.

Burial was at Calvary Cemetery in Montgomery.

Visitation was held Friday from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery, and Saturday one hour prior to services at the church
