Rotary Club installs Thompson as president

The New Prague Rotary Club elected a new president recently. Ross Thompson was installed for the 2006-2007 term on July 1. The Rotary Club has nearly 50 members and is the local branch of Rotary International. New Prague Rotary is active in the community by organizing the Dozinky Car Cruise, sponsoring foreign exchange students, holding fundraising events such as their winter pancake breakfast and their annual spaghetti dinner. Through their fundraising, they have given back more than $17,000 to the community and Rotary International, which works to rid the world of polio and sponsors projects to provide clean water. The New Prague Rotary Club meets at the New Prague Golf Club every Thursday at 11:30 a.m.
