Rouse will take over Catholic school system in Iowa

Chuck Kajer, Managing Editor

New Prague Area Schools Superintendent Jim Rouse, who is leaving the district June 30, will be the new president of St. Albert Catholic Schools in Council Bluffs, IA.

Rouse, 63, accepted the position last week. He was hired in New Prague as interim superintendent in August 2006 and dropped the interim tag from the position in February 2007. In December 2007, he announced that he would not seek another contract as superintendent. Last month Craig Menozzi of Lakeville signed a contract to become the new superintendent in New Prague starting July 1.

Rouse came to New Prague from Sioux City, IA, where he was community educator for Mercy Medical Center. Prior to that, he was superintendent of the Sioux City Catholic Schools. His wife Nancy Martin-Rouse continued to live and work in Sioux City while Rouse was employed in New Prague.

The new position will bring Rouse closer to his roots. He has 25 years of administrative experience in Catholic Schools. Council Bluffs is 90 miles south of Sioux City, and across the border from Rouse's hometown of Omaha, NE.

I am grateful for the friendship and support I have received in the New Prague Area Schools and communities
