Senior Sendoff was a fiesta of fun

Viva La Fiesta was the theme for the New Prague High School Senior Sendoff. The all-night event was held at the New Prague Area Schools' Central Education Campus following graduation ceremonies Friday, June 10.

Graduates had to arrive by 10 p.m. for the lock-in event, which lasted until 5 a.m. Decorations transformed the area into a Mexican village, complete with a cantina where graduates could get food and beverages. A few volunteers also got into the spirit dressing up for the occasion.

Parents had been working on the senior sendoff since last summer. The event provided a safe, drug- and alcohol-free environment. Games in the gym included a mechanical bull, an inflatable obstacle course, laser tag, various contests such as hula-hoop and limbo and other activities. Students could also try salsa dancing, have caricatures done or get temporary body art known as henna.
